Ajax Amsterdam vs PSV Eindhoven

Leading Ajax will face PSV on Sunday afternoon in its own Johan Cruijff Arena. Although the Amsterdammers stand head and shoulders above this year, it still got a knock in Groningen on Sunday afternoon. The local FC was 2-1 too strong for the team of Erik ten Hag. Goal scorer Donny van de Beek couldn’t change that. It is impossible for Ajax to hope that this defeat has to do with the failure of Hakim Ziyech. The midfielder is considered the best player of the Premier League and will be missed at Ajax in the coming months.

Whoever is going to be missed, but then at PSV, is Steven Bergwijn. Last weekend he was a symbol of mismanagement at PSV. The attacker was talking to Tottenham Hotspur and signed out for the home match with FC Twente. He received permission for this from trainer Faber, but the management of the people of Eindhoven complained.

Meanwhile Bergwijn has signed a contract in London and PSV has to look for a replacement. FC Utrecht striker Gyrano Kerk is mentioned, but according to sources around the clubs this is not the case. At PSV it is currently a gang and, considering the football, the team is in the corner where the blows fall. That has been going on for a while now and so there is a lost year in Eindhoven.

PSV would have liked to compete with Ajax for the championship, but that is no longer possible. The people of Eindhoven do of course want to win in Amsterdam. But we don’t think that will work.

Our Prediction: 1

Odds: 1.42
