In Taiwan, not only is the COVID-19 pandemic challenged, but a new football season has started, as scheduled. Taiwan is one of only five countries in the world to continue playing football, alongside Burundi, Nicaragua, Tajikistan and Belarus. Taiwan’s first league has started a new season, although it is close to China. Almost 400 cases of COVID-19, with 80 people hospitalized and six dead people were not enough to lead to the suspension of the championship. Taiwanese people are convinced that the peak of the crisis has already passed and even if in the early stages the parties will dispute with the gates closed, the sport is not in danger. “A great opportunity for us!
