Unsatisfactory results have recently threatened the position of Lincoln City at the top of League 2. This weekend they will face Northampton with help from the public Sincil Bank Stadium.

Lincoln performed 2 tasks yesterday as a guest of Bury and Notts County so they had to settle for a 3-3 and 1-1 draw. The draw has not been able to shift the team from the standings, but now only 2 points adrift of Mansfield.

The victory was immediately targeted in the match tomorrow with 4 wins and 1 draw as hosts since December 10-4 and 2 clean sheets facing Carlisle, Morecambe, Newport, Port Vale and Grimsby.

From the Northampton camp, they were disadvantaged, even though they won 1-2 at Tranmere. Fans are still celebrating the victory because it became the first after only drawing 1 draw against Morecambe and suffering 2 defeats from Cambridge Utd and Colchester.

Northampton was determined to maintain the momentum even though with less preparation. They fell 0-1 at the first meeting as hosts this season, then last November gave up 3-2 at Sincil when appearing in the FA Cup. Many said they were out of luck because they received a red card, but now Northampton is still scattered at number 16.
