PEC Zwolle vs Willem II

PEC Zwolle will be the first to take home in the first round of the Eredivisie. Opponent Willem II will find that it is all hosanna in Zwolle. That is not so much to do with the spectacular PEC purchases, but with the wild plans that the board has.

PEC Zwolle launched an ambitious share plan this summer. The first five million euros has now been received and the counter continues to rise. Critics are afraid of an FC Twente scenario, but they hardly see any risks in Zwolle itself. “We hold the majority of the shares and remain the boss in-house,” they say. We are happy to follow such developments.

Willem II is back as usual from a quiet summer. The madness has not broken loose in Tilburg. The board remains fairly sober, trainer Adrie Koster is where he belongs and there were no very big changes in the selection. The results in the preparation were also not bad or very promising.

The Tricolores look back on the previous season with a good feeling in which they got very far in the cup. But it also remained empty-handed. Willem II will focus on the play-offs and that is a great mission.

PEC Zwolle seems just a step further than Willem II, but we think the season overture ends in a draw.
