RB Leipzig continues its unbeatable trend since falling from Borussia Dortmund on match day 18 in the Bundesliga. Well, this weekend they are trying to keep that record when challenging VfB Stuttgart at the Mercedes Benz Arena.

Leipzig acted as host on Saturday (9/2) and had to be satisfied with a 0-0 position against Eintracht Frankfurt. This draw also made them still 5 points adrift of Borussia Monchengladbach in third place who lost 0-3 to Hertha Berlin at that time.

On the positive side, Leipzig now have 3 wins and 1 draw, not even conceded since they ran aground from Dortmund. Tomorrow is the 3rd away game after holding a 0-4 and 0-3 party at Fortuna Dussesldorf and Hannover 96.

Pressure was on the host side who had just been made 3-0 at Fortuna last Monday (11/2); a barrage of goals from Kenan Karaman, Oliver Fink and Benito Raman were enough to throw Stuttgart into the red zone, not to mention Nicolas Gonzalez’s red card on 93 minutes which of course added to the burden of the children.

Stutgart was asked to play more patiently because this was the second time in a row they received a red card; exactly a week before Mario Gomez came out of the match on 89 minutes when facing Freiburg at the Mercedes Benz Arena which was closed with a 2-2 draw.

Leipzig played host to the first half of the season and won 2-0. That means their goal has not been conceded since meeting Stuttgart the previous season with a score of 1-0 and 0-0 as the host, then the visitors.
