Willem II vs VVV Venlo

Willem II was in the highest regions of the Eredivisie for a few weeks, but has since landed in a place that is perhaps more realistic. Last weekend, Heracles Almelo lost 4-1.

Also Pavlidis, good for the only Tilburg goal, could not prevent that no points were achieved. That’s okay and there’s nothing wrong. Willem II does not have to become a champion, but a place in the left row would be desirable.

That also applies to VVV-Venlo, but who is honest also knows that the highest achievable is a position around eleventh place. That’s okay. VVV may be a healthy and solid value in the premier division, there were years when the presence of Venlo residents at the highest level could not be taken for granted.

VVV-Venlo is now playing a significant role. No prizes are won, but opponents rightly take the club into account. Last weekend points were taken at FC Groningen (2-1) that received a lesson in effectiveness. Nice club that VVV!

Willem II is of course favorite for this competition. Certainly in our own stadium we see the Tilburg players win. And we score at least two goals difference.
